Well for one thing, if they get to your website and they are bombarded with 500 different things on the homepage, and it’s really confusing, then you’re in a lot of trouble.
Your website isn’t going to attract any visitors, and if they do show up they won’t be coming back anytime soon.
So for usability sake, I recommend you clean up your home page and make it a lot less confusing.
It’s hard to tell you precisely what to put on there since I don’t know you or your business.
But I suggest you provide some kind of statement telling people why you are there, why they might need to check out your site and some general information about your business.
Then add other pages that tell some of the specifics about your company and precisely what you can do for those reading your website.
If you have an opt in form on your webpage, and you’re looking to capture the information of your visitors, then have it prominently display above the fold right in view of your reader.
Don’t make them look around for the opt in form. Leave it out in front of everyone for everybody to see. This is the best way to capture your customer’s information, since they will see your form and want to get your free gift.
